Southwest Florida College’s Medical Assistant program is designed to expose you to both the administrative and clinical aspects of the modern healthcare environment. We place emphasis on medical theory and terminology as well as teach you the practices and procedures associated with the operation of a healthcare facility. You will also learn in our clinical laboratory classes, where you can apply the knowledge you previously studied and further your training in real-world scenarios. When you successfully complete the program, you can pursue entry-level employment as a medical assistant with private physicians, health clinics, hospitals and nursing homes. Southwest Florida College features an Associate of Science degree in Medical Assistant that can be completed within a year and a half of study.
